White Chocolate Cookies

Image
This recipe I have to say I love. I made these cookies for the first time and they turned out perfectly and me baking something for the first time perfectly, let's just say doesn't happen often. Anyway once again this is a recipe from the one and only Tanya Burr. I recently purchased her book, and yes I know I'm late but I didn't want to buy any books until I finished my exams, so yeah this recipe is from this book.  So let's get started~ You will need: 300g caster sugar  200g butter 325g self raising flour 200g milk chocolate 200g white chocolate 1 egg Milk but this is optional  1) First pre-heat the oven at 200 degrees Celsius. 2) Mix the sugar and butter together until it has a creamy consistency. 3) Add the egg and mix. 4) Slowly add the flour so it mixes properly. 5) So if you think your mixture is to dry just add a dash of milk or if it's to sticky add a little flour  6) Then add in all the broken chocolate and role ...

Makeup Brushes?

Image
Hiii guys, in today's post I'll be talking about     the brushes I use to apply my makeup. I use the most basic makeup and I don't really use many products. So let's get started. First of I would either use my Real Technique Buffing Brush or the Miracle Complexion Sponge to apply foundation. As it's summer right now, I mostly tend to use the sponge  because I find that it gives a slightly lighter coverage whereas when I use the brush there is much more coverage. I think everyone's skin is much better in the summer so I personally don't really think it's necessary to wear a lot of foundation especially ones which give a higher coverage, but that's just my opinion. However, when I do use the buffing brush I find that it applies my foundation perfectly. The actual Essential Foundation Brush leaves streaks on my face which I really hate, so I tend not to use it a lot. To apply powder I use this big brush which you can see in the picture below. It...

Sorry Guys

Sooo I know I haven't posted in like two months but I'm truly sorry. I just really got caught up in the stress that is exams. I guess you guys can understand and relate to that sort of situation and I know it's no excuse for not posting but I literally had no time. I basically did nothing but study and I felt so bad for not posting, as being a blogger requires commitment may it be posting everyday or once a week. I just want to say sorry and I WILL be posting once a week again, every Sunday. I'm just so glad that exams are over but I'm dreading results day. I think results day is literally the worst day of every students life. Anyway i think I'm rambling so I'll stop. And I will definitely be posting next week and the week after and the week after that and the week after. You get my point. ;) I've also given my blog a makeover hope you guys like it, I literally love it. But one things for sure I didn't realise it would take soo much time to do alth...

Book Favourites

Image
Hey guys, today I'm going to be sharing my thoughts on two of my favourite books at the moment and yes they did come out quite some time ago but I still love them.  The first is 'Girl Online' written by a YouTuber named zoella. This book is literally amazing I loved everything about it and I just love how youtubers are able to do things they have dreamed of doing. The story is about a girl called penny who is an anonymous blogger and goes to New York with her parents as they are wedding planners. In New York she meets a boy named Noah who is a mucian and they eventually fall in love. But there's more to this story, it's not this simple trust me, so if you're looking for a book to read I suggest reading this. Can't wait for the second one. The other book I really enoyed reading was the 'One Direction Who We Are Autobiography'. I love one direction, they've helped me in many situations and this book just makes me love them even more. It...

Healthy Chocolate delights.

Image
Hey guys, so I'm not a very healthy person but my mum did want me to make her something that's, well healthy. It's basically bran flakes chocolate cups and I'm going to give you the recipe for them. It's healthy so it does include things I don't like to eat. So here's the recipe: You will need: Dark Chocolate (150g) A handfull of a mixture of dry fruits and nuts Bran flakes So making the chocolate cups is very simple and I'm sure you won't make any mistakes. Just make sure you don't burn the chocolate, I nearly did. First melt all the chocolate, then mix in the bran flakes little by little until until it looks like there is enough in there and then add the dry fruits and nuts. After that just put it into cupcake casings and into the fridge. And that's basically it. From this you will get around 6-8 chocolate delights. Trust me at first I was like I don't want to eat it as I'm the one who made it and the fru...

Down Memory Lane

Hey guys, so today I thought I'd go down memory lane and just recall some of the best shows from my childhood. It's not like I'm that old now, I'm only 18. Anyways let's start, when I was in year 7, I remember watching these shows every Friday after school. I would finish at 1:30 and my friend and I would just sit there watching these shows one after the other. Some of these include Lizzie Mcguire and That's so Raven. They were literally my life I loved them soo much. I could sit there for hours and hours watching different episodes. Then came along shows like Zack an Cody, Wizards of Waverly Place, Hannah Montana plus many more. These were the best shows ever in my opinion and they were actually my life. I still remember getting upset when they ended. But I don't understand how we can form a bond with a TV show. Anyways, can I say these shows were amazing and Disney channel don't even have shows like these anymore.  That's it for this week...

Insurgent

I know I'm late but I just watched this movie and it is one of the the best movies I have ever watched. I literally have no words to explain how good it was. I came out of the cinema wanting to watch it again. I don't want to spoil this for the people who haven't watched it, so if you don't want to read, you don't have to but I'm not going to say exactly what happens. Just going to state some brief points so it's not exactly a spoiler but it's your choice. It basically carried on from the end of divergent so if you haven't watched that you wouldn't be able to understand what's going on. But basically the people who I thought were evil so Peter turns out to be not so evil and Caleb aka tris's brother turns out to be not so helpful although, Jeanine remains an ass. Peter does something horrible at the beginning of the movie, which I'm not going to lie was VERY annoying,  but don't give up on him you'll thank him later and a...

My thoughts on Zayn leaving 1D!!

So last week was a rough week for many directioners including me. I knew that zayn went on a little break but I never in a thousand years thought that he would quit. When this news came out I was revising well trying to revise and I was literally in shock. I didn't believe it one bit so I scrolled through my twitter and I could see people freaking out over the news and that's when I found the link to their Facebook page. He said he wanted to be a normal 22 year old. At this point I was in tears and didn't want to believe any of it but as a few minutes passed I realised that this was real and not just a rumour. I had never been this heart broken and it all came as a shock. The next day zayn did a interview where he briefly explained why he'd quit. And again I didn't want to believe it. As upset as I am about zayn quitting I'm also happy for him because making this decision was what he wanted to do and I'm sure it was a very difficult one. However, wheth...

Double Chocolate Cookies

Image
Who doesn't like a good chocolate cookie? T oday I'm going to be sharing this amazing recipe for double chocolate cookies that I read on Tanya Burr's blog. This is the best recipe ever and I suggest you try it. As I've mentioned before I'm not good at baking so I'm going to be honest here and sa y I burnt the first batch but technically my brother burnt them. NEVER trust boys. So I made some more the next day which tasted soo good but I think I made them a little too big so they kind of looked a bit wrong. You'll see what I mean when you look at the pictures. So let's get started shall we~ You will need: ●200g unsalted butter ●1 large egg ●a big bar of white chocolate  ●2 big bars of milk chocolate ●75g cocoa powder ●275g self raising flour ●baking paper ~First mix the sugar and butter together until it becomes smooth and creamy. Make sure the butter is at room temperature otherwise it will take forever to mix. ~Then add th...

Gift Ideas

Hey guys, today I'm going to be sharing some gift ideas. I thought of making this for my aunt as her birthday will be coming up. So I've got some pictures which are really old and I thought I could use them to make a scrapbook that's kind of like a timeline. So this scrapbook would contain old and new pictures. I think this is a great way to make sure memories are not forgotten. Some memories are very precious and we tend to forget them as we don't really think about them much. But being able to have a physical book containing all these memories is the best way to cherish them. My aunt will love this gift as she will be able to look through it whenever she wants. Most people have digital cameras nowadays which you can take pictures on but you kind of forget that they are even on your computer. I think this scrapbook gift idea will be the best gift. The website I'm using to print the pictures is called PhotoBox and here's the link: http://www.photobox.co....

What's on my desk?

Image
Hey guys, today I'm going to be showing you the things I keep on my desk. So lets start with this candle I bought from home sense around two weeks ago. It smells of grapefruit and is just amazing. Grapefruit doesn't really sound that attractive as the actual fruit itself is horrible and just bitter in my opinion, but I just love this candle. Ever since I've bought it, its been on every single day. I light it when I'm revising and it seems to relax me. So if you have a home sense next to you I suggest you go there and have a look. They have a wide range of candles you can choose from. There are three other pots on my desk which I've ended up putting sharpies and hair and make-up brushes into. These also used to be candles and were from a salon called Tillie's. As you can see from these pictures I'm quite obsessed with candles. The make-up brushes in the pot are Real Technique brushes and there are also a few brushes from Beauty Base but I'm not t...

Outward Bound

Outward Bound is this amazing thing, if you ever get the Chance do it. Its basically a trip that lasts a week and during that time you do lots of activities and on one of the days you go camping.  I wasn't really sure if I wanted to go as it was for one week but I was like I'm not going to get a chance to go away with my friends for a week again because we're going to different universities so I might as well just go now. And as the time came I realised I wasn't very excited to go either. But I got through this and still went and can I say I'm glad I went. On the first day we did this activity called walking in the gauge which was basically a stream that we had to walk up. So this was a trust exercise and we had to be blind folded. There were three people who weren't blind folded and they had to guide the whole group up the stream and there were around 10 people in my group. This was scary if I slipped it would have hurt but luckily I never. However, m...

Mini Lush Haul

Image
Hi guys, today I'm going to be doing a small Lush haul. So I recently went into Lush and picked up a few things. I just love the way it always smells wonderful in there. I don't even know how to describe it, it just makes me feel like its summer and I love summer which is why I always end up in there whenever I go Westfield. For those you who don't live in the UK Westfield is just basically a huge shopping mall in London. Any-ways let's get started. So around a years ago I permed my hair which was one of the best and worst things I have ever done. It was nice at first but then it just went all frizzy and well it just became a mess. So my mum bought me a few products from Lush which literally fixed up my hair in about 6 to 7 months. The first product was a hair treatment called H'SUAN WEN HUA. So I literally don't know how to pronounce this but it does magic to you hair. Before you get into the shower you just apply some to your hair and then wash it out. ...

What's in my makeup bag?

Image
Hey guys, today I'm going to be showing you what's in my make-up bag. So lets get started, I have two make-up bags one consisting of make-up I use everyday and the other which has things I don't really use with other bits and bobs.  The make-up bag I use everyday day has all the products I previously mentioned so the Bobbie Brown eye-liner, Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24h foundation, Lush lip scrub, blusher from Laura Geller and the All in One Face Base Powder. All of which are fantastic products but there are also a few new additions and replacements.  Thought I'd mention my makeup bag is from zoella beauty and you can find it in Superdrug. Starting with a new mascara I bought called the Bourjois Volume Clubbing Mascara in A bsolute Black. As I had said before I hadn't really found a mascara that I liked however, I recently watched a YouTube video by zoella and she mentioned this mascara and can I say I literally love it. I've just used it once and it is a...

EXAMS!!

Image
Okay, so exams are getting closer and day by day I'm getting more and more stressed. There are literally only two months left till my exams start and I think I'm starting to go crazy. Time is going by soo fast and it frustrates me. The exams I'm sitting are some of the most important exams I will ever sit and can I say they are flipping hard. The jump between GCSE's and A-levels is massive and if you don't study you will fail. Trust me I'm speaking from experience and because of the lack of motivation I had I am now retaking some of my As exams. It's not really a great situation to be in as you have the stress from A2 exams as well as As and it's not a nice feeling. On top of that universities want a specific grade and if thats not achieved I actually don't know what I'm going to do. So if you're someone who's taking their GCSE'S or doing some other sort of exam please study hard. Before you know it your exams will be round the c...

Take chances!

Image
Despite being only 18 I think I have done some pretty cool things in my life. I've experienced a few things that I wish I could do again. I can say having these experiences changes you for the better. They make you a more confident and stronger person and this is coming from someone who used to be really shy but now I look back and think how could I actually be that shy. However, I'm the sort of person that seems quiet first but becomes loud after. Anyway, the first thing I did was complete the silver DofE award. I really wanted to do the bronze but none of my friends seemed to want to do it however, when I was in year 11 I had decided I would the silver award no matter what and so, I did it and it was one of the best and hardest experiences of my life. During the three days I did regret doing it as it was very hard and challenging but there wasn't much I could do. Its not like I could turn back and say I wanted to go home. Despite the fact of really regrettin...

A few products I LOVE

Image
Ok, so I'm no beauty/make-up guru but there are some products I really love and enjoy using and I thought why not share them with you guys. To be honest I'm not someone who is obsessed with make-up, but can I say I do need it in my life. I don't really wear make-up in school. However, I do wear it when I'm going out. Its really weird because in school I don't really care what I look like but when I'm going out I NEED make-up. Maybe some of you are like this to. So here are some beauty products that I love and enjoy using. I haven't found the best mascara yet so I'm not going to include it. The first product is a blusher from Laura Geller in the Baked ImPRESSions Blush collection called Mauve Mocha Latte and I have to say it is one of the best blushers I have ever used. Its a baked and pressed blush which means it gives a natural looking finish, as well as it being good for your skin. It contains grapeseed oil and this has high levels if vitamin ...

LEMON DRIZZLE CAKE!!

Image
To be honest when it comes to baking I'm not very good but I still love it either way. Although I've had a disastrous situation where I've made a dripping cake because of adding too much baking powder, this cake recipe, I've got to say is amazing. Its from the one and only Tanya Burr. Just a little bit of advise don't get mixed up with tsp and tbsp. I know it's a really silly mistake but people like me  tend to make this mistake. This left me with a dripping cake in the oven, as well as ruining the cake I had to clean out the whole oven which I can say was not pleasant.  So here's Tanya Burr's recipe: Here's the link if you want to watch it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SP7USjWpi18 You will need: 170g Self Raising Flour 110g Icing Sugar 170g Caster Sugar  1 tsp Baking Powder   170g Butter   2 lemons  3 eggs Method: All you have to do is mix together the caster sugar, butter, eggs, baking powder and flour. Also add t...

First Post...

My first post, I still can't believe I've finally started blogging after thinking so much. Anyway, as this is my first post why not start by giving you guys some information about myself. So, my name's Sona and I'm 18. Just like any other 18 year old I'm trying to enjoy life as it goes. I live in London with my lovely family which also includes two baby guinea pigs named Chico and Fizzy.  I started blogging because I felt like trying something new. I have never been the one to put myself out there and do something I wouldn't usually do. So starting this blog was a big step, which is why I had to give it a lot of thought.  There you go, that is just a little bit of information about myself. I really doubt anyone's going to be reading this but if you are thanks so much. Sona Xx
